Because of #COVID19 isolation and my heart surgery, I have been reminiscing about my life and experiences. I have also been going through old photos, and I thought it would be fun to share a poem that I wrote in 1998 as a middle schooler. Take a glimpse and see what Kendra from 1998 was feeling. This is one of the many poems that are sprinkled throughout my first book, Live Laugh Lemonade: A Journey of Choosing to Beat the Odds.
WHY? There is that short girl again.
She looks like she is two, but
she talks like a teenager.
Why is she so small? Is she normal? She must be odd?
Why do people stare at me? I am as normal as everyone else.
This is the way God wanted me to be.
Why can't people realize that even though I am small, I am
creative, generous, friendly, and giving.
